Celebrity florist Orlando Hamilton began his career at prestigious royal florist Moyses Stevens in London after being persuaded to leave an underwriting job in the City to work there.
During his six years at Moyses Stevens he learnt about the art of floristry and running a floristry business, and was promoted to manage major events such as the flowers for celebrity occasions including Sylvester Stallone’s wedding at Blenheim Palace. He decided to go it alone in the spring of 1999 and now has a shop in Nottinghill.
With corporate and celebrity clients such as The Metropolitan Hotel, Madonna, Kylie and Puff Daddy he has fast become London’s hottest new florist. His work has appeared in GQ and Vogue, and Elle Decoration and the Evening Standard both named him as Person to Watch in 2000. He has also appeared on GMTV, This Morning and BBC’s Housecall, and his first book Hip Houseplants was published by Dorling Kindersley.
Orlando has also given floral design demonstrations at the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham for the last two years.
Orlando is passionate about flowers and has been described as the Floral Evangelist. He believes every home deserves beautiful flowers whether it be to make a design statement, create a mood or simply cheer you up.
